This presentation by Shelley Pasnik discusses the controversial yet growing ubiquity of technology in young children’s lives, and the opportunity it provides to influence children’s learning. Educational media can enhance the school readiness and success of children, including those living in low-income communities, but technology can never replace human interaction or good teaching. The presentation features examples of digital tools, along with guiding principles that early education leaders can use as they design or evaluate programming that integrates digital media and face-to-face teaching and learning. Pasnik was a featured presenter at EDC's September 19, 2017 convening, "Early Childhood: What's Next?"
