Several EDC experts will present at the 2017 National Association of Media Literacy Education conference:
- June 26: Tony Streit is the chair of this year's NAMLE conference and will provide opening comments to kick off the event.
- June 27 (11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.): Wendy Rivenburgh and Kate Goddard will present Media Literacy in the Classroom: Training Educators in the Art of Youth Media. During this session, Wendy and Kate will share findings from their work on Adobe Youth Voices, which was a professional development initiative to train more than 5,000 educators in 60 countries in how to facilitate youth media projects. Panelists will also engage in a discussion on how to scale these youth media efforts to ensure that youth are building the skills necessary to be active and engaged citizens.
- June 27 (2:00-3:00 p.m.): Randy Kochevar will present the session “Data Literacy and Media Literacy: Finding Common Ground in K-12 Education," as part of the multi-presenter session, "Media Literacy Across Disciplines: Media Literacy's Big Tent." Randy's co-presenters will include Mary Moen ("Media Literacy @ Your Library") and Mary Caton-Rosser ("Exploring Connections Between Media Literacy and Entrepreneurship Among Rural Youth in South Dakota").
