Join EDC at the Society for Research in Child Development's Spring 2017 Biennial Meeting! EDC early childhood researchers will present several symposia, sessions, roundtables, and posters:
- April 7 (2:15-3:45): Clare Irwin will lead a roundtable, "Researcher-Practitioner Partnerships in Early Childhood Education: Benefits, Processes, Successes, and Challenges," featuring Caroline Ebanks of Institute of Education Sciences, Michael Strambler of Yale University, Katherine Pears of Oregon Social Learning Center, and Rebecca Bulotsky-Shearer of University of Miami.
- April 8 (2:30-4:00): EDC will lead the symposium, "Measuring Mastery Motivation in Early Childhood: Methodological Advances and Challenges." Kristen Reed will chair the symposium, and Jessica Young will present the paper, "The Preschool Assessment of Mastery Motivation: Measuring Goal-Oriented Behavior During a Moderately Challenging Puzzle Task" authored by Young, Janna Kook, and Reed. Penny Hauser-Cram of Boston University will serve as discussant.
- April 8 (4:30-6:00): Katherine Shields will present the paper, "Building a Research Base to Guide Kindergarten Entry Assessment Policy: Findings from a National Sample and Future Directions" co-authored by Shields, Kyle DeMeo Cook, Sara Greller, and Clare Irwin during the session "Policy Efforts in Early Childhood: Quality Ratings Systems and Kindergarten Entry Assessments."
- April 8 (10:15-11:30): Regan Vidiksis will present the poster, "Supporting Parent-Child Experiences with the Use of Digital Media for Early Mathematics Learning" co-authored by Vidiksis, Deborah Rosenfeld, and Alexandra Adair during Poster Session 10: Technology, Media, and Child Development.
