The dynamic and delicate years from prenatal care to age eight form the foundation for all that follows in a person’s life. Across the U.S. and around the world, EDC supports the full circle of early childhood care and concern—families, communities, educators, home visitors, health care professionals, and others—to make sure all children have the building blocks of long-term success they need to flourish today and tomorrow.

Our studies and evaluations deepen understanding of what works in early childhood and produce actionable findings that improve services for children, families, and communities and strengthen programs, systems, and policies. With our leadership of national and international systems change efforts, we are on the front lines of preventing harm, promoting well-being, and fostering collaboration to sustain quality environments, experiences, and relationships for young children.
