Founded in 2013, the Massachusetts Computing Attainment Network (MassCAN) is a partnership of organizations collaborating to inspire and educate students in the field of computer science and prepare them to lead and innovate in a future economy that will be dependent on and driven by computer technology. In this Briefing Book, the leaders of MassCAN describe the goals, key accomplishments, and future directions of the partnership. The Briefing Book also includes extensive information about the current status of computer science education in Massachusetts and the U.S. and provides data that underscores the importance of ensuring that all students graduate from high school with foundational computer science skills and knowledge.
